1.4: “Come, Let Us Adore Him” Copy
Saturday, January 4
“When the wisemen saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.” Matthew 2:10
In ancient times, travelers and sailors determined their heading by watching the movement of the stars. Stars, particularly the North Star, are relatively fixed in the sky. This constancy allowed navigators to determine directions reliably and ascertain their position on earth. The star that led the Magi to Jesus was an incredible act of God. To this day, scientists cannot explain its presence. “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament sheweth his handywork.” Psalm 19:1.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, just as a new star in the heavens led the Wisemen to Jesus, may your word be a beacon leading us ever closer to you. Shine the light of your continuing love in our hearts so that we may share it with others. Amen
