12.26: “Come, Let Us Adore Him”

Thursday, December 26

“Who is He, this King of Glory? The LORD Almighty- He is the King of Glory.”    Psalm 24:10*

“Glory.” It is a word not used much in common vernacular these days. What is it exactly? God’s Glory is the beauty and renown that emanates from His character, from all that He is. On the other hand, human glory is like the flowers of the field- it withers and fades away. (I Peter 1:24) But the Glory of God never passes away. It is eternal!

We have just gone through Advent where we have been invited to pay homage to the King of Glory. When we accept this invitation, we come to belong to Him and share in His Glory. We no longer fear the reality of our glory fading away.

We will also be in His presence now that we have “clean hands and a pure heart” and “we do not lift up our souls to idols or swear by what is false” (Psalm 24:4). Let us honor our King by giving Him glory and praise for the greatest gift of all, salvation.

Prayer:

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen
