Weekly Devotional by Diana Golden
“What has this pandemic and social distancing been like for you? I have had days where I vacillate between depression, fear, anger and loneliness followed by guilt. Other days, I am happy, hopeful and at peace. These are the days that I’ve chosen to turn off the news and tune into our Lord.
Several weeks ago while on my morning walk, I saw the following scripture posted in a business’s window: “Deuteronomy 31:8”. As soon as I arrived home, I pulled out my bible to see what this passage says. Deuteronomy 31:8 states “The Lord himself will go before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forget you. Don’t be afraid and don’t worry”. This particular passage has stayed with me and given me strength.
I pray that this passage may give you peace.
Here is a short prayer to start the day:
Dear Lord,
May I always remember that I never walk alone because you are with me.
Please heal the division in our country and help us to remember the words found in John 13:34 – “I give you a new command: Love each other as I have loved you. All people will know that you are my followers if you love each other”. May the healing begin within me, Father, for your glorification.
In Jesus name,
Amen”
