JOY IN THE JOURNEY! Advent 2020 Devotional 6

Luke 1: 11-17

“TRUST IN GOD AND PRAYER”
REFLECTION: THE STORY OF ZECHARIAH speaks to each of us in many ways.
When we pray to God from the depth of our heart, we need to be patient and
recognize that God answers prayer in His own way and in His own timing. God may not
speak to us through angels but in many different ways—the Holy Spirit, scripture, a
clear voice in the middle of the night, circumstances and in many other ways. We just
need to take time to listen that we may hear and discern His voice. He may be speaking
in a whisper. It is too easy to let the voices of the world block our hearing God’s voice.

PRAYER
Help us “Be Still and Know That You Are God” so we can hear your voice.
May we trust Your voice and accept it, receiving the joy and gladness that God’s answer
brought to Zechariah and Elizabeth prayer. Amen
