The Third Sunday in Advent

Peace on Earth

Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others–the armies of heaven–praising God and saying, ‘Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth peace to those with whom God is pleased.’

Luke 2:13-14

 

When our children and grandchildren are born, we feel such great joy, excitement and love.  The miracle of birth and a new life amazes us.  I feel this way when I read or listen to the scripture about the wondrous birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ – feeling the excitement of the angels and others about this miracle that has happened!

Peace and love are among the greatest gifts Jesus has given us. het We continue to pray for peace on earth, love for our neighbors and our earth.

I cannot thank Him enough, although I do daily.  Praise be to God!

 

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for all of the beautiful gifts You have given us, and, especially Your precious Son, Jesus Christ – the most valuable gift ever.  As we accept the gift of peace, our lives are set straight, priorities are put in place and our love for You grows.  Thank you dear Lord.
