Divine Intervention
The angel Gabriel replied, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby born to you will be holy, and He will be called the Son of God.’
Luke 1:35
God sent his greatest gift to us all through Mary.
Mary was a young woman who lived simply in a small village. She was engaged to be married to Joseph, a carpenter. When the Angel Gabriel told her that she had been chosen by God to bring his Son into the world, she showed courage and her deep faith by obeying God’s command. She only questioned how it was possible as she was a virgin.
When God created Adam, he was without sin. After he sinned, mankind was tainted by this ‘original sin.’ Mary conceived Jesus through the shadow of the Holy Spirit thereby making him pure and sinless. His birth through Mary made Him human. A pure, sinless human being, sent by his Father, God, to save the world.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, we thank You for this wonderful Gift that You sent us. May we be ever mindful of all the sacrifices made to save us. And Lord, help us to be obedient like Mary as we live our lives according to Your will.
Amen
