12.7: “Come Let Us Adore Him”

Saturday, December 7

“And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.”     Isaiah 40:5*

What is the most glorious thing that you have seen? Was it a stunning sunrise or a sunset that captures you in awe, ablaze in colors and proceeding into infinity, leaving you breathless and marveling for days ahead?  I love to witness the first morning light spring forth into day, or to sit on the beach at sunset. The experience produces a peace and thankfulness to be present in God’s creation. We get a glimpse of His splendor.

Who cannot be humbled by the majesty of mountains expanding before you, or to look upon the face of an innocent infant, or see microscopic features of nature under a microscope and not be struck by God’s glorious creation?

Jesus came as the begotten Son of God, the Word made flesh, and we beheld Him. Through faith in Him we are given the promise of partaking in God’s glory now on earth and forever in heaven. Let us together continue in expectant awe and thanksgiving for the one who speaks truth and produces life for all to share.

Prayer:

Father, your words are timeless and good to receive. May we today remember again the hope we have that Your words never fail, turn to You, and see Your glory afresh. Let us be joyful and thankful, eager to share with others what we know.
