First Pres Presents – FARMLAND JAZZ BAND

On Sunday afternoon, March 3, “First Pres Presents” will host the FARMLAND JAZZ BAND in concert in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church, downtown Battle Creek.  Hailing from Fort Wayne, Indiana, the eight-piece band brings a repertoire of ”toe-tapping, heart-thumping” family-friend music reminiscent of the 1920’s jazz and swing eras.  They also include pop, traditional, and original selections.

The eight musicians are drawn from northeast Indiana and got their start at the Three Rivers Festival.  Since then they have performed for thousands at festivals, churches, weddings, parties, parades and numerous other venues across the Midwest.  Accolades have included “A fabulous sound” (Indiana News Center), “Just makes me smile” (National Public Radio – WBOI), and “Wonderful Music”  (then Governor Mike Pence.)

The concert begins at 4:00 pm (doors open to the sanctuary open at 3:30 pm), at First Presbyterian Church, 111 Capital Avenue, N.E.  Admission is free, and there will be a reception immediately following the performance. It will provide an opportunity for refreshments and a chance to meet the musicians.
