Matthew 2:3-6

ORDAINED FROM OF OLD
This passage incorporates the beautiful prophetic words of Micah (please refer to Micah 5:2-4). A contemporary of prophets Isaiah, Hosea and Amos, Micah was born in 740 BC. His hometown was Moresheth, in southwest Judah. Isn’t it marvelous that God gave him a vision, hundreds of years into the future, that a great King would come out of another small Judean town not far from his own? A man described by Micah as both a Shepherd (suggesting humility, compassion and strength), and a great and majestic Ruler. And a promise is made that His flock “will live securely” — words to live by, now more than ever!

Prayer
Heavenly Father, Your plan to send Jesus into the world was carefully orchestrated from the beginning, and you are still at work, that the future may unfold according to Your will. We thank you, we praise you, we love you. Amen
