“Isaiah 26:3 says: “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”
Nothing is easier today than to have a mind that is not “stayed” on God. In addition to hundreds of marketing messages we receive each day through the strategy of “attention economics,” we also have great fears about COVID-19 and the social unrest in our country. The world, our flesh, and the enemy tell us we are alone in all this. As I have meditated on this verse, it became evident to me that as we gaze upon who God is and His promises for us, we find the peace that is promised nestled in the refuge that God longs to be for us. As I spend time with Jesus and am refreshed by the Holy Spirit, I discover I am NOT alone, and God IS for me. If those are true we can have the peace we need to weather any storm, including the one we are facing today.”
